Abstract

New standards of school education that meet the requirements of modern times
require teaching teams to maximize the work on the professional orientation of students. The right
professional choice for any person is of paramount importance for personal development and social
activity. But it is formed only if the personality is directly consistent with personal qualities,
characteristics, abilities and interests and has a corresponding harmony with goals. In the formation of
personal qualities of a teenager, the adolescent period is especially important, full of incessant
psychophysiological processes in whose life significant changes are taking place. This is due to the fact
that adolescents in this age period, in addition to physiological changes, also undergo the development
of emotional and social abilities. During this age period, students spend a lot of time thinking deeply
about who they want to be. The choice of profession is influenced by various factors, but the most
important of them are the personal qualities and character of any person. The purpose of the research
work is to establish the relationship between the professional interests of adolescents and their personal
characteristics. As research methods of research work, the methods of questioning, questioning of
students according to the «Differential diagnostic Questionnaire», «Map of interest» and the test
questionnaire for adolescents by R.Kettell were used. In the course of an empirical study, the personal
qualities of students of secondary school №77 named after A.Askarov, which affect the trajectory of
future professional activity, concludes that there is a need for in-depth study of the personal
characteristics of school students in order to determine the direction of future professional activity and
help in choosing a profession. The practical value of the research lies in the possibility of using its
results by school teachers, psychologists, representatives of school education management to determine
the personal qualities of students contributing to the choice of a future profession.
